La Importancia de Historia

 

Our project looks into the history of Old Town, how important it is to know your history, and the need to preserve historic landmarks. In our project we detailed the history of Old Town in the format of a podcast. We included the interviews of a tour conductor from the Old Town Trolley tours to further emphasize the importance of these historic landmarks and the roles they play in our city. We want the listeners to realize the importance of Old Town itself, and feel motivated to visit it and learn about its history.

 

In our podcast, we will discuss who founded Old Town, its history, and its importance in modern day San Diego. We highlight the importance of keeping Old Town authentic, and place emphasis on teaching history to the newcomers of San Diego.

 

We created a podcast because we thought that verbal storytelling is more impactful than reading an essay. In a podcast you are able add personal depth, and connect with the emotions and implications of the knowledge being presented.
