Pacific Fleet

 

As the Navy expands, so does the San Diego Naval base and local surrounding community. The Navy keeps the country protected and its borders safe. The San Diego Pacific Fleet Base is a place for soldiers to defend the country, where bands practice music for competitions, and a place that impacts the local San Diego community.

 

How does the Pacific Fleet impact San Diego?

 

In our project, we took new photos and old photos of the Pacific Fleet station, the Navy and bands in battle of the bands competitions at the Pacific Fleet Naval Base, interviewed someone who served in the Navy, and combined these elements into a movie. Our goal was to show the transformation of the Pacific Fleet.

 

In this project, we were inspired by the Navy’s culture and the history of World War II and the battle of the bands of the Pacific Fleet. We hope our video shows that the Navy base has had an impact on the local communities and will continue to do so as long as there is a Navy presence in San Diego.
