MISSION VALLEY

Through constant construction and renovation, Mission Valley has become one of the most populated areas in San Diego. Residents have the luxury of living walking distance from shopping malls and retail stores. This makes it a really convenient neighborhood to live in. For my project, I captured photos of Mission Valley and videos of everyday life of its residents.

An unexpected component of my project is the natural aspect of Mission Valley. As construction progresses, the town’s urbanization continues. Trees are being replaced by tall apartment complexes. Plants are torn from the ground to make room for stores. The one thing left is the San Diego River. Passing through the center Mission Valley, the river is almost always overlooked. My project shows the forgotten but tremendously beautiful river people often ignore.

My slideshow demonstrates what Mission Valley offers. Through pictures and videos of storefronts, busy streets, apartment complexes, and the San Diego River Walk, my video will uncover every aspect of Mission Valley.

With this project, I hope to show that Mission Valley is a quickly developing area that provides convenience to its residents via storefronts and shopping districts, but is still well integrated with the natural aspects of the location.
